Since my Instagram stories about finding a ceiling fan for our bedroom were the most responded to of all time, I knew I had to put my favorites into an easily accessible post for anyone else searching for a fan.
I’m not sure what it is about ceiling fans but it’s clear that many of us have trouble finding one that isn’t a total eye sore. My husband is obsessed with a ceiling fan, and while I prefer a gorgeous light fixture, I was willing to compromise on keeping a fan in our bedroom, if we could find a pretty one.
I ordered quite a few and ended up finding a handful that I can say I actually love and are currently hanging in our home…

Fanimation AireFlex 52-in Brushed Satin Brass
This fan wins my #1 spot. We currently have one in our bedroom and in our living room. I was nervous to order a fan with brass accents because so many look horrible when they arrive. Thankfully, I pleasantly surprised with the brass color on Fanimation fan. And for under $200, I really can’t complain!
It is incredibly sleek and seems so much smaller than our old fans even though it is about the same size. The three blades do make the slightest “helicopter noise” as my husband likes to call it. If you’re used to a four blade fan, the sound it makes cutting through the air is just a little bit different but it doesn’t bother either one of us.
We were able to wire this fan to two different switches – one for the fan and the other for the light. It does however come with a remote so that you can control the speed of the fan and the light. I can attest that this fan has some major power. The first night we slept with it on full power and I was freezing. Ever since, the middle setting has worked well. ?
Hunter Aker 52-in Fresh White LED Ceiling Fan
I also purchased this fan for our living room and was happy with it. This one has the pull strings if you still prefer those over a remote. Ultimately, we retuned it and purchased another one of the Fanimation Brass fans above because we just liked that one so much.
However, if you want a large 3 blade fan in white that still has the chains, I recommend this one!
Hunter Dempsey 44-in Fresh White LED Ceiling Fan with Remote
This white four blade fan is the one we just installed in the nursery. It is a little less modern but still fairly sleek and blends in nicely with a white ceiling.
We wired this one to our outlet as well but also kept the remote to adjust the light and fan speed. This fan also moves a lot of air and I like the middle setting the best for the summer. Since we wired it to one switch, the switch turns on both the light and the fan at the same time. I don’t usually like overhead lights so I used the remote to turn off the light and will plan to use the remote to control when we need that on.
