This year, more than ever, it is important to support our local businesses! As someone who is surrounded my small business owners in my family, I know that 2020 has thrown some unimaginable curve balls. To help give some support to my favorite small businesses in the area, I have rounded up a list to help you with your holiday shopping this year.
Thank you for sharing with me SO many of your favorite local businesses – it was hard to narrow it down to 12! Please share this post with your friends or comment more of your favorite Richmond area businesses to help them make it through this crazy year!
1.Relics to Rhinestones
I started my local holiday shopping at Relics to Rhinestones. After I made the recommendation to check out this store, two of my family members went and actually bought themselves one of the gifts I have purchased for them. ? I particularly love all of their coastal decor and tableware. There is also a great collection of Julie Vos jewelry!

2. Gild and Ash
Another adorable spot on Patterson Ave is Gild & Ash! I am obsessed with all of their original art but they also have great accessories, jewelry, and home decor finds. Just try not to buy too many things for yourself. ?

3. RVA Antiques
This is my favorite local antique store! If you are a ginger jar lover like me, they always have a fun collection to choose from. If you’re buying for someone who values antiques or unique gifts, this is a perfect place to start.

4. Revival Consignment
Another great spot for a unique gift you won’t find anywhere else. Revival has gorgeous art and furniture that is all well cared for and in great condition. They just launched a new website where they showcase a lot of their products if you want to check them out before you head to the West End.

5. New Kent Winery/Talleysville Brewing Co
When in doubt just gift wine and beer. ? This is my husband’s family business in New Kent County. They have a lot of great wine specials for gift giving and also opened a brewery this fall. Something for everyone!

6. Tweed
If you haven’t stumbled into Tweed yet, I will warn you that you will come home with all kinds of gifts for people you weren’t even planning on shopping for. Their store is so much bigger than I was expecting and I love that they have many items you can have monogrammed or personalized on site.

7. Family Photographers – Lindsey Martin & Katie Wilson
If you’re scrambling for a gift or don’t know what to tell your husband to get you, a gift certificate for a session with a family photographer is the perfect gift! Both Lindsey and Katie are so much fun to work with and obviously take stunning photos!

8. Clementine
This spot in Carytown is an amazing place for high end consignment. They most a lot of their items online but carry tons of designer consignment pieces at great prices. Perfect for finding a holiday outfit that doesn’t break the bank!

9. Cater 2 Events
Cater 2 Events is an amazing local catering company but they are have options for picking up for a party! Lona’s sweet potato ham biscuits are famous and they have great desert platters for a holiday party. If you don’t want to miss out on her Christmas orders for ham biscuits, place your order online by December 21st at 2pm!

10. Whisk Bakery
If you get tired of shopping and need a little treat, I highly recommend Whisk! Their baked goods are ridiculously good and can also make great gifts for the person who has everything. I haven’t tried one their Oatmeal Creme Pies yet but word on the street is they’re the best.

11. Layer’s Bakery
I was unfortunately not gifted with many baking skills. I once tried to make my oldest daughter a character cake and she cried when she saw it. Needless to say, when I see someone who is a master at cake decorating – I am super jealous! Check out Layer’s Bakery in Midlothian out on Facebook, the videos of decorating the cakes are fascinating.

12. Sun and Selene
When I asked on Instagram and Facebook which local shops were your favorites, Sun & Selene came up A LOT! I will admit I hadn’t heard of it but since checking out their social media and website, I ordered a few gifts. There are so many gorgeous pieces to choose from.

Happy shopping! Thank you for shopping local during a year where it is SO important!
